Because You Belong At The TOP!

i-believeEvery day there’s someone on the other end of my telephone that is completely fed up of waiting for life to hand him or her the golden opportunity.  These are the people I find who are moving from being mediocre to being among the Top Achievers in our world.

But They’re NOT Above Average…

Make no mistake, Top Achievers are NOT above average, don’t confuse the two terms, because they mean something VERY different to your end result.

For instance, being above average is about ‘feeling good’ about yourself, that you are ‘comfortable’ with who you are.  I’ve often heard people tell me “I’m just FINE with who I am” and I’m not here to judge any one, I’m just delivering the knowledge I’ve discovered between massive happiness & achievement and being ‘fine’.

All the abundant motivating Facebook posts and shares of inspiring pictures are great…but how many of those sharing and posting are ACTUALLY putting the inspiration, advice, education, knowledge, motivation and so on into their lives to elevate themselves to being GREAT at what they do?

From where I sit as a personal and professional growth coach, my observation is NOT MANY.

They Seek Out The Right Environments

The ones that move into being TOP performers and achieve great success & happiness are the ones that are willing to challenge themselves on EVERY LEVEL.

Which is DAMN hard.

However, they are willing to step out INTO the spotlight and be seen for what they truly believe; and they don’t care what others think about it.

Now this doesn’t mean they have a crappy attitude towards the world; it’s actually the very opposite.  They BELIEVE in themselves so much, and in what they are building that nothing else matters.  They understand that they cannot make the world happy…they can only inspire and help just those that will gain the value they are naturally & happily providing.  Their “WHY” is very clear.

Steve Jobs was like this, and on the anniversary of his death today, I recall the exact moment of hearing the news.  I was just finished a MasterMind with colleagues, mentors and coaches… I was getting ready to fly home.

It’s an important part of my past because not only was  a legacy taken away from us,  it was significantly MORE powerful to experience how it impacted me, my coaches, my friends and colleagues all in the same way.  If I had to describe it, it seemed like a piece of universal energy was lost …I know it sounds all woo-woo, but I can’t explain it any better.

Step Into Your Own Greatness

I want to be that great – I want YOU to be that great.  Imagine changing people’s lives in such a way they remember how you made them FEEL rather than what you DID for them.

I’m sorry, but being “above average” is just not good enough, and do you know why?  Above-average is safe, it’s secure, it means you don’t have to try as hard because you’ve chosen NOT to be the best.  There’s some ‘leeway’ and it gives you ‘permission’ to let go of your true potential. Is THAT what you want?

Being above-average also means you don’t have to challenge yourself, or put yourself into the spotlight for people to judge and God forbid, ridicule or disagree with you.

YOU have to strive to be the best at what you do because I fully believe THAT’S where you will be the happiest, do you agree?

And this doesn’t mean working yourself to the bone to climb the corporate ladder for instance…it means to be the best at what makes YOU happy, period.

As Jay Niblick says in What’s Your Genius “The most successful people among us don’t accept being just another runner in the race, and if they can’t be the best, then they change races and find out where they can be.”

ARE you happy?  Are you doing EXACTLY what you want to do?  Let me know below!

  1. I love this post! Thanks so much, and it's funny that the very attitude towards success is the one most overlooked – changing what you're doing to be successful! I love that you mention the Facebook quotes and images. I see them often, and also wonder how many people smile and think for a moment how nice it is – before moving on in exactly the same manner. Thanks so much, I hope others appreciated this post as much as I did! http://www.canadianmortgagesinc.ca

  2. Thanks for the input Bryan! I'm glad you liked it because it sounds like you have the right mindset to build your success! Yea, the FB quotes are getting to be a bit much when no-one really follows the advice. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fact the world is awakening enough to SHARE the messages, but imagine what our world would look like if more LIVED that way! You're exactly right about people "smiling" thinking its nice and then moving on, it's the same thing as seeing a successful person & thinking "that's really cool, I WISH I could do that". Enjoy your day Bryan!
